Congratulations mrmagic! Welcome to the Cap-1 family. You know the drill... pay on time, stay under the credit limit and you will get your first increase after 3 months. Initial limits are either 300 or 500 but everyone is automatically enrolled in the Credit Steps Program for those with limited or average credit which is most of us.
Thanks! all , the inital limit is $300 but I'm just stoked I was approved. I already have the secured card with them at $2K which I use for everything and PIF every month.
Cap1 loves running all 3 CB for their hard pull but if you are pre-approved for one of their cards, do they simply soft you and skip the hard pull?
I was not approved fellas.....
@mrmagic9799 wrote:I JUST did the pre-approval just being curious and got approved for their NO Hassle Rewards Card 2% on Gas & 1% on Groceries and all other purchases WITH 0% interest until 9/11 ( I PIF everymonth anyway) it's just nice to have zero for a while....
Congrats! I got that card back in October and I really, really like it. I use it for all of my normal day in and day out purchases, PIF at least once a week so that I never run a large balance, and have made back more than enough cash to offset the AF. I hope that it works out well for you, as well.
@ William23... I'm so sorry that you weren't approved. If they won't do a recon, perhaps you'll be able to get it sometime in the near future. Best wishes going forward...
As they said, try the recon #... my scores are not much higher than yours but I do pay the Premier in full every month... yet, I also have a bk on there as well that is only 8 months old...
sorry
@JayRizzo wrote:I feel like the Cap-1 Poster-boy now that I've suggested this card to many in this forum hahaha. Reality, yes there's always a chance of denial but as I've stated before Capital One has been more forgiving and doesn't blacklist those who made mistakes in the past. I would suggest going for it. If it doesn't get approved, check the Cap1 backdoor numbers at the top of this forum and speak to someone about a down sell on the Cap1 Standard Platinum card or even their new Secured card which appears to be a new program for a lot less startup cost.
Can I be the poster-girl, then?
which one is the best recon number and how do I about reconsidering? what do I say?
Which Capital One card did you apply for? If you went for the Rewards card, then that may have been out of your reach. Call the 877-513-9959 number to speak directly to a Personal Account Specialist, you may ask for an Executive Account Supervisor if necessary -- they will explain all the details of your application and down-sell choices. Also to tinuviel, hahaha yes there's always plenty of room under the Capital One poster-boy/girl spotlight.
