Capital One Product Change - Venture One to Savor

I haven't seen any posts on this yet, so this may be a new upgrade available on certain accounts.  I was offered a product change on my Venture One to Savor this evening.  My V1 was 4 months old, 7% UTIL as of today.  The 10X points with hotels.com doesn't appeal to me based off my travel patterns and other existing accounts.  No changes to APR, credit limit or annual fee (no AF).  My miles converted at 1% to points/cash.  Automatic redemption available, unlike having to wait for minimum mile redemption thresholds or taking a cut on non-travel purchase with the V1.  Upgrade appeared in my account simultaneously during chat.  The Savor card is offered as an MC.  In the Wallet app it appears as a Visa.  My V1 was a VS.  I'll provide an update when the physical card is received as to what it is.

Youre the first I’ve seen with a successful pc to Savor. A lot of people will be happy to hear this! Thanks for sharing!

Fyi.....your Savor is a Visa because your Venture One was a Visa. Anyone who simply apps for Savor will receive the MC.

So was this a request initiated via chat to get? I wouldn't mind PC my Venture to this later this year.

This was done via online chat.  I initially tried the product change link to see if I could convert my QuickSilver.  No dice.  Instead I got an offer to upgrade my existing Venture One to a new...umm...Venture One! So I asked my friendly rep if that was a glitch.  I did not ask for the product change.  The PC was offered to me unexpectedly.  I asked my chat buddy to look at the Quicksilver after I PCed the V1 to the Savor.  Again, no offers.

Other data points, if they have any bearing on this:

18 year cardmember with C1.

Several sub-prime cards, until I all merged them into the QS which brought me to only one card with C1.

V1 I applied for, got the triple hard pull, and got the eye blinding limit.

I applied for the V1 instead of the Venture because I wanted a better APR (got the lowest at 12.99%), Zero Percent Intro Apr for 12 months, and No AF.  The 1.25 miles didn't appeal to me.  The sign-up bonus was decent.  The no FTF and VS were extra bonuses.

Thanks for the heads-up, @Anonymous... this will be great news to many!  Smiley Very Happy

For me it's bitter-sweet, since I did PCs on two Capital One cards just a few weeks ago (no option for Savor)... but at least I know in five more months it's a possibility!  Smiley Wink

You don't change networks. If you have a Visa, it will stay a Visa regardless of the advertised network.

Thanks for the info, OP.

I have a QS that's collecting dust in my SD.  I'd like to be able to PC it to a Savor at some point.  I'll hit up chat tomorrow and see what they say.  Even if it's a "no" now, it sounds like a "yes" may not be too far away.

I can confirm that it does work. After seeing this thread I jumped in to the chat and was able to change my venture to a savor easily.

Thanks for the heads up. Saves me a HP since I was planning on getting this card soon.

Yeah, I think I'm going to wait at least a month as I did PC's on two cards about five months ago. I'd love to PC one of them. I have a third card that might be eligible, but I don't want to PC that one. It has a higher limit, and it's better off remaining a QS.
