I just called the "backdoor number" for Capital One and told them I'd like to make my Capital One Card the #1 card in my wallet. They will give you a CLI ONLY if it's available in their system. But it IS a real promotion. They sent out letters so they can get customers to call and give them feedback. I spoke at length with the Rep there and she spilled the beans. She looked at my 2 accounts and ironically the one that I've had the longest wasn't eligible (it's been open since 07/2007 with a $1k limit started at $300) She pulled up my new account opened on 10/2007 and it was eligible for a $500 CLI to a total of $1600. (that account also started at $300 CL)....go figure...LOL. I used the 877-513-9959 number. WOO HOO, that account reports tomorrow too. BIG GRINS

No, It won't affect the auto-cli, in fact it will make the auto-cli 500 instead of the normal 200. Or at least it did mine....
Well check this out. I just called and spoke with a granny.... she gave me a lot of swee talk and did not much understand my questions about the ceiling. After a while when she understood it, she got off the phone and research it just to come back to tell me that my current credit line IS my ceiling. Of course I am not buying that. I think she just did not know much about it because when I mentioned the Credit Steps letter I received last month, she was unfamiliar with the program and shocked that it said I would get an auto CLI if the account was in good standing. I certainly hope this is still the case and granny isnt correct about my $1000.00 credit line ceiling. I guess it is safe to assume she was wrong because when I asked her, so if a 1000 is as far as I can go on this card, is it closed when I get a credit line increase. She said no, I would keep the card.
