Capital One Question?

My balance on my cap one card is at $0. My bill is due Mar 31 do you think they would charge/penalize me if i dont make a payment on the due date? But since their is no balance then i cant pay anything the way i look at it. But reading how capital one has acted in the past i am a little apprehensive about this! I really dont need a late charge!
Rebuilding and Reducing Debt, is my game plan.

i don't think you can make a payment on a zero balance. Have you charged something that will be on next months bill?  you can make payments before the bill is generated but you don't have to.

Re: Capital One Question?

I agree with, No Balance = No Payment...LOL.. But if you want to be extra careful, go buy something and then send them a payment for the amount.  If you look at your statement and where it says minimum payment due, if it says 0, then no payment is due on the account.

Re: Capital One Question?

Capital One sends me a statement every month with a 0 balance and a payment due date.....They are the only ones I know of that do that to me.

Every other card I have if I don't charge something I don't get a bill....the way it should be!

Re: Capital One Question?

Odd, they don't send me a statement when I have a zero balance. I sockdrawered my Cap one for a while last year and didn't get a statement for months.

Although I'm getting statements now, since they have to report my $0.01 credit balance. That'll teach them to not give me a CLI. Smiley Wink

Re: Capital One Question?

And you wonder why these companies make rules after rules about how you can pay and when you can pay and what you can pay.

It's a bit silly to really think your punishing them for making them report a penny credit that costs them 35 cents to mail plus the cost of paper and handling etc.

However if that's what blows your skirts up then more power to you.  Keep that credit there for a few more months and then try to cash the check they send you to zero out the balance.  I'm sure it'll raise the eyebrows of the cashier at the bank.
