So i had a Orchard Bank Platinum Mastercard and I did my usual chat request to have it upgraded to Quicksilver...and it my suprise they finally said yes the other day.
It has already had 1.5% cashback rewards added to it by the EO but they wouldnt upgrade back then...I was excited to just a differnt name on the card i guess...but now I got the card and its a "Quicksilver ONE" card...not a Quicksilver card.
Anyone know the deal with this? Whats the difference?

They're about the same rewards-wise. Notable difference, QuicksilverOne is for individuals with fair or average credit profiles so you'll likely already have a high APR. Quicksilver tends to be offered to folks with good to excellent credit. Not sure if you currently have an AF, but typically the QSOne comes with a $39 AF if you apply directly. The QS comes with a sign up bonus when you apply, no AF. They still both look like gym or bookstore membership cards...LOL
Ha, i better not be getting a AF added! That sounds like a DOWNGRADE to me! They never mentioned it on any papers or during the chat so im assuming that will not be getting added...
Anyway, i agree with the utter lack of "prestige" capital one cards have, regardless of their designs they come up with, lol.
Hopefully i'll hear back from EO tomorrow about CLI's i requested on my two differnt cards...I got $250's on both cards about 4-5 months ago, but im lookin way better score wise and utilization wise so hopefully they will bump it more.
They are both $750 limits but I just said $4000 on each as requested CLI...figured shoot high and let them counter...?

Well the appeal, or prestige, really rests on the eye of the beholder I guess. I have two WMCs, 1 Venture and 1 Cash Rewards since I decided to keep them that way even though I had been offered the Quicksilver a couple times. IME, it was just a matter of preference.
Yes, once the underwriting team finishes with their review the EO will contact you back. Or, you can also periodically check your accounts to see if any upward movements occured on your CCs - even if small, the gain is still in the positive direction to keep them growing.

Yeah im guessing if there is any movement in the CL's it will be tomorrow morning or afternoon...I just got off the phone with the lady last night...so 1 day between calls is seemingly how they work...at least thats how it worked last time i did it...hope it works!

I get keeping the Venture, but why not convert the Cash Rewards? Only difference is with QS you get the .5% straight away rather than waiting a year. I agree the Cash Rewards design is a lot nicer!

Procrastination....LOL. I do see the benefit in getting the .5% immediately. I guess I was willing to wait until they "force" the conversion if it comes to that... then I can have the "membership" card... errrr... I mean, Quicksilver CC.
I wanted to post up what info I have on this. I got this same offer in Jan (not the ONE version though) and took it. I went on chat and they confirmed it would be a full upgrade to Quicksilver card they have.
So I got the card and it said Mastercard on it. Funny, because Quicksilver is Visa Siggy. So I called in again. Here is what I found out by calling the executive office. 800 955 1455
My card, after 7 years, is still a subprime builder card even with the recent upgrade. It just has quicksilver rewards added to it. It can not ever at any time be upgraded to Visa Siggy, or World Mastercard. It will also keep its high APR and limited growth ability for the life of the account.
I have read others have succeeded in getting converted, but this was my end result after spending 4 hours rotating between reps today. I told the last rep I spoke with that was absolutely horrible, and he seemed to think that the recent 500$ increase was "substantial". I said its all relative and thanked him.
Hope it helps someone else out.
Im done with Capone, just in the sock drawer it goes. Every 6 months I will charge something to keep it active, but I just can't take it serious as it is now the second lowest card I have next to my gas card. Sucks that It can't even grow to be respectable because it is my oldest account. Wish I had found these boards before I got their card, in hindsight I would have opened a secured card with a bank If I would have known this is what the result would have been so many years later.
Good luck to all who must effort themselves with the limited accounts concerning CapOne.
Just wanted to let you know that within the last four weeks, I came close to ridding myself of Orchard because I couldn't get them or CAP1 to increase my credit limit for this product remained from it's opening thru CAP1 transition at $400. So I transitioned the card a week and a half ago to a QS, still keeping the limit the same at $400. The card is in the mail and I haven't even received it. As soon as the transition to QS happened, I hit the "credit limit increase" button and was given the 7-10 days message. Thinking I would just wait 6mos to apply for CLI then, I acquiesed to wait that to CLI request in July or so. I have three other Cap1 cards with higher limits; one at $1500; one at $3000.
So a few days ago, I read here that CAP1's are starting to get generous with the CLI's ... so I go back to this card, ex-Orchard, now QS [card is still in the mail] and hit the "credit limit increase" button again and lo and behold, I'm given a $3000K limit above the $400, making the total CL@$3400 --- outdoing the other two cards. I'm good now.
Thanks for letting me share.
Best, f.
