Re: Capital One Reporting

CK is a great tool to monitor your TU report. While the score and card recommendations are trash, everything else is good.

Also, cap1 used to only report the high balance as the limit a couple years back, they report normally now.

Re: Capital One Reporting

I charged about $150 the first month and paid all but $25 before statement posted. Cap1 reported my balance $25, and also my payment amount which was about $127, which I thought was odd, not high balance.

Re: Capital One Reporting

CapitalOne will report if you carry a balance after every statement like clockwork, but make a large payment, or zero out your balance and word of this travels through China by way of Antartica and the moon before it reaches your reports. Smiley Wink

Lol. Thanks Mr Turnpike. Ya, I paid $300 dollars on the 28th electronically. My account was still locked yest even though my statement showed the payment received and processed on Feb 28. It makes no difference to me now because I am not planning on using my card at all in the near future. I did want to figure out how long it takes for my credit limit to be restored once I pay just so I know for the future. I chatted online with them and they said that they would release the hold on my account yesterday.  Who knows how long it may have taken if I hadn't contacted them. Online payments can take a while to go through. It was a similar situation with my Walmart Card. The Walmart charge took 5 days to even hit my bank account and 4 days before it posted to my account.

Re: Capital One Reporting

Funny is that I have had my Capital One accounts (2 in total) for a year and a half and CK doesn't show them on my credit at all.  I was wondering if Capital One reports at all to TU.  I guess it's just me.

Re: Capital One Reporting

You can't rely on CK. If you really want to know what's on your TU, order a report directly.

Re: Capital One Reporting

Capital One is funny like that.  If your payment is more than $150.00 it takes five or more days to post.  You can call Capital One and have them contact your bank to verify that the payment posted to your account two days after you make the payment and Capital One will release the funds to your card.

When I have a large payment to make I'll make a payment of $125.00 one day and the next morning the payment will post and it will be reflected on my available credit balance and then I'll make a payment of $130.00 and the next morning it will post and so on and so forth.  Make the payment before noon and it will show up the next morning.

I to had made large payments to my bill and it took forever to post which was very frustrating.

Re: Capital One Reporting

My Capital One card began reporting after the second statement cut. It reported all months it had been open up to that time.

It has reported my Credit Limit correctly, and also my high balance as well. It has reported my balance on the statement end date each month, and has been very predictable.

My payments were held from available balance for a number of days during the first few months. I kept calling and asking them to release the funds. Eventually, I got hold of an Account Specialist from here in the US who informed me that the best way to stop that from happening was to make a large payment and let it run its course. The next month, I made a payment of $1,200 or so. It took about 8 or 9 days to clear from my available balance, but since then, my funds clear immediately from my available balance no matter what the size of my payment. While inconvenient at first, it appears Capital One now trusts me and has made the process very smooth in return.

Hope this helps.
