Was given a $100 CLI... 11 months of on time payments.
Hi there, I am thinking your an expat like myself?
If I were you I would apply for the capital one newcomers credit card that is not a secured one.... I got the secured card 1st without knowing about the newcomers card until I read through various posts/threads on here. instant approval for $500 and my wife got the same with a limit of $1000.
keep the secured as an extra building card on file to build up score etc. you can add the limit up yourself to make it look more appealing to other lenders etc. and keep your utililization levels low which inturn raises your scores.
I also got a CLI from Capital One. Same situation as far as payments, they increased it by 300. They sent me a letter before saying they would review my account.
At the same time, I also got approved for one of Bank of America's Cards (this one unsecured).
I'm over 2 years now, no cli.
I started with a secured, $200. limit. After about a year, they bumped it to $300. I called to see if I could get another increase a few weeks ago. They said no. Only way would be to add more $. I was like, what about the hundred you gave me? Rep said you can't call in for an increase. Maybe it's just for the secured card. This is the oldest of what I have now, I'll just let it ride until I get some higher limit cards in the next few years.

Cap1's policy is to not accept basically any customer initiated CLI requests.

Think you've moved way beyond them with your portfolio if I remember the rest of the cards in your wallet correctly.
If you're not putting the bulk of your spending on their card, there's no real reason to reward the customer with a CLI; in this case it's just an AF if you keep the card open, and their business model is such that they expect customers to move on. Especially in today's world, there's probably 2 people moving down into subprime for every one moving up into prime.

I got their secured MasterCard a year and a half ago, it was my first card and basically my first CRA entry. They bumped me up a $100 for a total line of $300 eight months ago. I called Cap 1 Today to request a CLI,denied. The credit analyst was kind enough to direct me to a senior analyst who may have been able to lower my apr, denied. I thought what the heck and applied for a Cap 1 Cash Rewards MasterCard and got aproved for a $500 CL.
