Capital One Secured, next wave of CLIs...

So, a portion of us have witnessed the power of unsecured CLI's on that sweet sweet Cap1 Secured. But, has anyone had subsequent CLI's? I don't recall even a hint as to the method used after that initial 6 month review. What have you heard? Witnessed? Assumed? Dreamt about?

This is a good question, im curious myself. I have not reached the 12 month mark yet, and not sure if there is one scheduled at that point or not. I may close it out before the AF hits again though.

Re: Capital One Secured, next wave of CLIs...

The card has not been available for 12 months yet (in the US).   I was told when I got mine that reviews were every 6 months.    The card provides free CreditInform which gives you a Credit Score (updates every 3 months) and Experian credit report.    I was told that was one of factors used in granting unsecure CLI was that score.   In my case, the CreditInform score was very close to FICO score.

Re: Capital One Secured, next wave of CLIs...

Just chiming in here.... I received a 300 cli in November. Got my card last may. I asked a csr to hit the love button again for me last week and got a letter stating that I have not maintained my current credit limit for six months. I added funds in December getting my card up to 2300. So I guess I'll have to wait another 6 months from December to see if they give another cli. I've spoken to someone I have a good relationship with in their disputes department and he told me they are evaluating how they will handle this card going forward. Meaning they rent sure if it will ever unsecure. I think the cli's will keep coming though. I don't think they rely on that credit inform service you mention. They pull fico's at 1st app reviews and the cli I got didn't even have a soft pull. Im sure for larger amounts they will pull a soft but I'm sure its fico. Isn't credit inform fako? I think the next round will come this summer or maybe even fall. I have 2 cards with them and want a cash rewards card with them. Site says I am pre approved but don't want to risk getting denied for too many cards.

Re: Capital One Secured, next wave of CLIs...

I doubt you'd have to wait 6m from December, more likely just from the last auto CLI. Otherwise, those that constantly add funds would never see an auto CLI, and that'd be sad. Even more saddening is the prospect that this card would never unsecure. If that's the case, my hopes, dreams, and ambitions would be crushed

I added money to mine every month including the month I got my $300 CLI.   So I think you misinterpret. the credit limit statement.

You have no way to know if Captial One pulled a FICO score or Credit Inform score or both, unless they gave you the scores.    Inquires only show who looked at your credit report, they do not show you whose score system was used.

Re: Capital One Secured, next wave of CLIs...

amex pulls experian fico

funny that you think amex doesn't pull fico's when they have pages and pages of content dedicated to helping their customers improve their FICO... that's why people on these boards need to be careful about who they accept advice from

and don't give me that junk about them having their own equation.  they pull fico and count it into their mumbo jumbo.
