Hi all,
I currently have 2 Cap1 Quicksilver. Both of which is around 2 years old. I recently upgraded to QS from Platinum using the upgrade link I found on youtube. I'm requesting for a credit line increase from a SL $300 for over a year , but they gave me a $100 increase. I didn't take it and just forget about it. 2 months ago I spent $275 to buy some toys for my kids, paid it down and left $25. After the statement closed they automaticlly increased my cl to $2,100. I went to the other QS with the same SL and requesting, they gave me $1800. In the next few months, most of the negatives on report would fall off and I think my credit scores should be around 720-740 or even higher. I'm planning to apps for a Venture or a Venture X. Should I close one of the QS down now or wait until then? I've heard about their rules of having 2 Cap1 cards at a time. Any feedbacks would be great. Thanks.
If you really want a Venture/Venture X, then yes you'd likely have to close one of your QS, and doing so a few months in advance would be a good idea so that it'll be updated in their internal database.
That said, are you absolutely sure you want a Venture/X? I only ask because any credit app with Cap One is a triple pull (1 HP on each bureau), which is a hefty price to pay for a card. Why do you want this card in particular?
@OmarGB9 @I need to travel in styles, off course. Just kidding.
Couples years ago I burned Chase, BoA and Citi and Disco. Not much left to choose from. I don't think they would let me in anytime soon. I have a few crappy cards with low limits, don't really know what to use with except keeping it alive for building credit. The most recent, decent cards are Amex. I got in the door with them about 2 months ago. I really want a Visa just in case I can't swipe the Amex. I lived in Dallas TX, I thought Amex is accepted everywhere, I was wrong. I ended up buying $30k worth of equipments with a debit card on that day. I was really pissed 😠. There's a lots of perks that I can benefits from with the infinite Visa. I'm planning to buy furnitures, decors and a bunch of stuffs for my new house once it's done building in June of next year. I would like to utilize both Amex and Cap1 to gather points for our trip overseas next year. I'm tired of using my debit card for everything in the past 5 years. Do you think I should wait for an upgrade offers to the regular Venture card, if available?
