I'm looking at my reports and Cap One is reporting that I requested to close my card. They issued a new card and are now reporting the new line. Does this change the time it's been open and therefore hurt my credit? I have two credit cards, both Capital One, and it's happened to both. Thanks.
It will have no impact
The new line should have the same opening date as the original

This is standard procedure for any creditor when there is fraud. The new card should report with the same info as the old aside from account number. You can pull your own reports or monitor your reports with a CMS to verify.
