Capital One combining limits

Hi Everyone,

I have a Platinum card that I don't have too much use for anymore and am wondering if I can move it's limit over to my Walmart MC? Is this something they would do?
I would get much more use of that card and rewards than the boring platinum.

thanks in advance for your thoughts

Unfortunately, Capital One no longer combines accounts or limits.

Re: Capital One combining limits

Have you considered upgrading the platinum to a quicksilver? 1.5 pct cb aint bad, i use mine a lot.

I know there is a thread somewhere on the forum that tells you how to check if you are eligible for the upgrade.

From memory i think first log into your account and in the address bar type /productupgrade.

i could be a little off, maybe someone else will chime in.

You know, I actually haven't considered upgrading. Really only because I recently paid off my accounts and I would like to close some accounts that are not too old, not very high in their limit and not that important. During my rebuilding period, I was opening anything that was approving me. Just because it felt good to see that " You're Approved " message.

Now it's time to keep my most beneficial cards and longest open. I don't need accounts like JCrew, the platinum, or JCPenny. I also have a Mission Lane with no AF, but I just feel I outgrew it.
I have a Navy Federal Cash Rewards for the 1.5 cash back. Also worried about charging more than I can pay off within the month.

Re: Capital One combining limits

I am in a similar boat as you concerning my collection of cards. i got into a really nice tier of cards for my last 5, savor one, penfed pcr, navy cr, comenity rewards mc, and discover. i have been closing my older cards one at a time, this month i closed fingerhut. im only interested in keeping 2 of my oldest cards, target and kohls.

The rest i will slowly and gradually close, most of them are zero bal and i really dont use them.

PS, i think you can also call cap 1 and see if you are eligible for an upgrade to the QS.

Yes.

My oldest after BK in 2009, is a Credit Union my friend works at and pushed through for me at the time. It has grown and been good to me, but no perks. I won't close as it has perfect payment history since 09. I only use a few times a year. But I love Navy and my Hilton Aspire and Apple Card's. Nordstrom and Macys are my fav retail cards, kohls I have as it has been around for awhile and I am trying to get a secured BofA card to graduate after many years.

Citi Custom Cash is the last card I would like to add to my collection. But I'm worried I would get a small SL, so I'm holding off for mid 700 scores.

Have you asked for a cli on the kohls card lately? you can ask about every 6 months and it can grow as high as 3k. they do expect some spend but i use mine for moderate to small purchases and grew it from 300 sl - 1500 in 14 months.

300-700-1500

My Kohls is at 2500. Been there for about a year. I haven't used it since November for Christmas. Paid it off by January, sitting since then.
I will consider Cap One upgrade. I've only had the card for maybe a year? Has 3,000 limit. Was late night when I applied with their pre qual. Figured I could dump as it shouldn't  affect my AAoA
