Capital One doubled my credit limit without requesting

Hi, I'm new here!  I also got an increase on my card this month.  I started out with $300cl, after 3 good payments it automatically went to 500, now they jumped it up to 2,000!  I was shocked, because they didn't tell me it was going to happen.  I did have some collections that recently fell off, though.

Congrats to all the people who received cli's from them.

Stay on their good side and they treat you well. Get on their bad side and they can make it a nightmare for you.

What the heck  I've had NO missed/late payments for the past 5 years w/Crap One - I did however consolidate (3) piddley ones into ONE, being the newest so it's only 1-1/2 yrs. reporting but I didn't get any increase  I don't want to apply though either right now  No hard pulls just yet  Mortgage hopeful!

I see of lot of you referring to a "back door" number for Capital One ... can someone tell me what it is?  I had a settlement with Cap1. Once it was paid they issued me a card with a $200. I was told that with good payment history blah blah blah I would be eligible for CLI's. After a year of ontime pmts I called and was told the type of card I was issued is not eligible for CLI's. Sometime last year the CLI was raised to $500 (I just happened to notice it on my statement). I have had the card for over 2 years and never been late. If there is a number I can call to try and get an increase I would like to try it.
