I don't believe the Cap1 builder program card exists any longer. The card us no longer listed on their site and I can't find any info on it any more. If any one knows otherwise place let me know.

I believe the Capital One Builder Program has been replaced by the Platinum Card. If you read the description for the card, "Get access to a higher credit line with Credit Steps after making your first 5 monthly payments on time" which was a feature of the Builder Program.

Re: Capital One "Builder Program" Credit Card

I applied for the builder program in September, had to put down a $100 deposit for a $200 CL. I got a CL increase to $500 in March and my TransUnion score has gone from 601 to 637. Best birthday present ever. Btw, on my account page it calls itself a Platinum card now, not sure what that means. Anybody know if I can get my deposit back? Will I keep getting CL increases every 6 months or do I have to push the magic button?

What you applied for was not the builder program, it was the partially secured card which is a platinum card. You probably won't get your security deposit back either unless you close your account. As far a CLI, you may get one but not many after that. As long as you treat the card well you will probably qualify for an unsecured card in the future.

Re: Capital One "Builder Program" Credit Card

I would hit the luv button. I was able to get a CLI before my 3rd statement. I spoke with the rep and she told me to try again in a couple of months for another one

Re: Capital One "Builder Program" Credit Card

I got a credit increase for QS1 with no problem and if I want it I can get a $100 increase on my platnum card right now.  I want more than $100 though so I am waiting.

Starting all over again!

Re: Capital One "Builder Program" Credit Card

I have never been able to get a CLI on my Platinum card.......after the third statement, I tried for an increase and got the message that I wasn't eligible, I waited another 3 weeks and got the same message. I guess I will have to wait until I get teh steps increase.  Smiley Sad
