Hi credit experts,
I checked my credit score when I logged into Capital One and it was like 70 points lower than the other places that I can get my credit score.
Cap One displays a Vantage Score, not a FICO score. It should run similar to Credit Karma. Those are fine to look at for information on what's in your report but don't look too closely at the score unless you are applying for something you know uses Vantage.
Capital One provides you a TU VantageScore 3.0 score. This is not a FICO score. It's the same FAKO score you'd get from Credit Karma under TransUnion.
What are the other sources you are using for your score? Chances are you are using FICO sources if you're getting them from places like Amex, Discover, Credit Check Total, myFICO, etc. Those scores are much more meaningful than the Credit Wise BS you are getting from Capital One.
In short, don't sweat those 70 points as 99% of lenders out there wouldn't care about that score.
Thanks everyone for your input. The other score I am using are from DCU.org which I think is a real fico score. I was a myfico addict for like a year in 2013 and this website helped me get my first credit card and build my credit from 560 up to a recent high of 695.... Now I just have too much utilisation....
I'm convinced that there was either a reporting or an algorithm glitch last month. I subscribe to MyFICO to get my real scores, but I also check CapOne/CK just to see where they are at as well.
Last month I lost 60 points with no activity (actually a decrease in balances, but nothing else), but lo and behold, today I got a refresh, and my scores went UP by 80 points...
