Capital One to QS

We have had our Capital One Platinum card since June.  Yesterday we were able to upgrade to the quicksilver.  Rep said that credit limit would stay the same which is really low.  How quick should we see a credit limit increase?  Will we see one after 6 months.  I see where some get a limit increase after a month or two and some have to wait.  We were suprised they upgraded the card when it is only 2 months old.

Re: Capital One to QS

CONGRATS on your upgrade and as previously stated, 6 months is the typical wait time.

Would their 6-month clock start from the account opening, or from the PC date? I just did a PC change not so long ago and they gave me the 6-month spiel, which I assumed also meant that I couldn't get any CLI's within the next 6 months either. I'm not looking for one; the card alreayd has a $5,100 CL. I was just curious.

Re: Capital One to QS

I have had my card since Nov 2013. No auto CLI, I requested a CLI online and received a msg saying they are "evaluating assigned CL at time of opening" not sure if this was because I had 80% util on the card. I just PC my card to a QS too and as soon as my BT post and I go 0 utill I'll try the luv button again.

If you're unhappy with the credit limit, you might try in say four months (when your account is six months old), by reaching out to the social@capitalone.com address. They take an interest in things like this. Good luck and congratulations on the upgrade.

Re: Capital One to QS

Congrats!

When they changed me to the green CashRewards card I asked if it would interfere with credit steps or CLI timing and was told no. But who ever really knows with Cap1
