They sent me a check for $0.01 last week for a credit on my account. Not even kidding. So yeah they'll send you a check for $0.09 without batting an eye.

To my surprise I see both my accounts have 0 balances.....
I'm thinking wth...then I see and item listed as .09 REFUND?
Ok, that's supposed to be a credit, because I slightly overpaid like last months .43 cent credit
I purposely paid rounding to the dollar, it's cool to see THEM owing me vs the other way around
+ It makes it easier to quickly scan my accounts if one has a 0 and the other has a -minus whatever
Anyway I call in all I can get out was I've got a small issue on my account the CSR says is this about a .09 cents... I say yeah, where my credit, he says a CHECK is on the way I'm like a check?
He says yeah you must of REQUESTED a check for your refund
I say, hey kid is it possible that if you have 2 credit months in a row that Cap-1 just auto sends a check...he sheepishly says it appears so😂
Just FYI folks...Cap-1 doesn't like allowing credits even under a dime sit in your account.
Nope their gonna waste $2.50 in materials and postage to send me a .09 cent check for me to deposit...one I'll probably lose anyway😞
I'm sure they buy stamps in bulk, so they probably pay $.20 for each one.
The envelope is probably 5 cents.
The paper check is probably 1 cent.
It's probably not $2.50 in materials.

Stamps are the same price regardless of how you buy. There's no bulk discount. Sorry.
Never done bulk mailings, huh?
There are absolutely bulk discounts....

Everytime i get some Rewards on my Cap1 Quicksilver, i choose to redeem it as a Statement Credit, i do it every month for any amount, i would feel funny getting a Check every month for a couple dollars from them
eeeek
Similar story, from the other side:
A long, long time ago (mid-90s), back when we actually had to PAY for long distance, I signed up for a cut-rate LD service as a favour to a friend (he was selling the service, so got commission). I really didn't like the service, so cancelled it. Somehow, after cancelling and paying the last month, I ended up owing them TWO CENTS!!
They sent me five letters about this 2 cents. The last letter was a demand letter (didn't want to go to collections over 2 cents). I was trying to avoid paying, as I had to pay something like 40 cents per cheque. I thought, here I am going to pay 40 cents for the cheque, about 27 cents for the postage (yes, that's how cheap postage was back in the day)
So, I wrote a letter pointing how much it had cost them to send me the five letters, taped two pennies to the letter, put their address as the return address, and dropped it in the mail without postage.
Never heard from them again.
