I have heard of it happening but not sure abouit the age factor on the accounts.  Won't hurt to call and ask.

Re: Capital One

dont combine them, keep them both in good standing for 1 year and then call the back door # for a cli

Re: Capital One

I agree with creditdrama. Keep them for a year, min in pristine condition.

Lates will kill your chances of getting ANYTHING from them. Plus put you at default interest rate of 29.34%(I learned the hard way)

After a year of perfect reporting, call for a cli. Wait 3 or 4 months and THEN go for a combi. Smiley Happy

I had 3 Cap1 cards, averaging 5 years old. I combined 2 of them in Sept. In Oct, I got a cli on both of them.

Good luck. I hope that helps. Smiley Happy

Re: Capital One

Timothy did it... thread around here somewhere 'converting Cap 1'.

But I do agree with the others.  Cap 1 does automatic huge (percentage wise) CLIs over the course of the first year.  Took DH 12 months to go from $300 to 2k on his card... without asking.  You'll get more bang for your buck if you wait at least a year (right before the annual fee gens on the newer card maybe ) and keep the accounts perfect as it appears they only use your history with them to approve your CLIs etc, not CBRs once you have the card.

Cards were 5 and 2 years old

$500 CL to 1000
$500 CL to 4000

Combined $5K CL, no AF, reduced APR.
