Capital one - How many cards can you have? Can you consolidate?

I have qs1, platinum1, sparks, green forget which it is thinking rewards... now venture1.. but 2 were other cards hsbc and orchard. Sparks is a business. Dunno if ya mix it up like that if there is a difference. But imagine i wouldnt try to get another venture one.. or multiples of others..

I have four. Two old Master Cards I opened in 2007. And two new Visa cards I got in 2015.

Last Sunday I was approved for the Platinum and Quicksilver.I chose the Platinum.Does anyone know if these two are in the same family? I want to apply for the Quicksilver one but am reluctant after just applying a few days ago.Or can you recommend another major cc along these ranges.I never carry a balance and am only looking to credit build.Thanks!

I have seen a couple posters say they have 5, I have 4, Plat MC, QS1, QS Sig & Venture1. None of which are "step" cards.

I didnt realize that there were 2 Quicksilver.I must have prequalifyed for the QS1 because I remember there was a 39 annual fee.Now to decide if I should apply for that one since the prequalification said I was approved.Im still waiting on my platinum in the mail or wait and apply for another..Im just happy I can establish some credit

QS is a better choice than the QS1

I had 6 capitalone cards before closing one last year. Now i have 3 old platimun mc's converted to QS1's. A QS visa signature, a VentureOne Visa Signature and a Neiman Marcus card. So i have 6 cards w/ cap1 again lol

I have been told by several reps that 5 open credit card accts is the limit.

I have 5, so  I know that you can have atleast 5.

Need to wait 30 days between applying for cards with Capital One.

This is the level arangement as to my knowledge...

1. Platinum

2. QuicksilverOne

3. Quicksilver, VentureOne,or Venture 

4. Signature Visa Quicksilver, Signature VentureOne, or Signature Venture
