I just got approved for QS via chat and have 2 cards: secured platinum 5mos, unsecured platinum 2mos. I'm assuming paying in full and keeping utilization low are factors on their algorithm.

"I have double checked your account and see that there currently there is no offer on your account to upgrade"
We are constantly making new options available, so you are welcome to check back in a few months to see if new offers are available.
Unfortunately, we are not able to convert every account to any Capital One product we offer. If you qualify for the new account, you will be able to use your new card to take advantage of the benefits you want."
I have been with them for 4 years and my CL is $5,750
I have FICO 8 over 740, so if I don't qualify for an upgrade who does ?
Any way around this? Any way to get that PC
I have been with them 11+ years and have a CL of $12,200...and can't get a PC OR a CLI on it! As others have said...Cap1 appears to rely on its computer to decide all of these things taking the human element completely out of it. I get the same canned response from chat CSR when I inquire about a PC for my Plat and get revolving "excuses" on why I don't qualify for a CLI. I wouldn't even have the CL I do if I hadn't combined another old Cap1 card with it!
So weird! My Platinum was upgraded to a Quicksilver within a few months of opening it, with a $800 limit and a 630 ish score.
There must some weird thing they're picking up.
Have you ever had a late payment on the account?? maybe not late as in 'affecting credit scores late' but even just a day late to them? I'm just trying to figure what could be holding you back.

They explained me that I will still be a platinum card, but with Quicksilver rewards attached.
Does that make any sense to someone ?
Makes perfect sense, but that's because I received a letter telling me the same thing.
Also, OP, with those credit scores, if you were willing to take the triple hit to HPs (but it's still just one per bureau), you could always apply for the card you want, wait six months, and combine the card you don't want with that new card. Just an idea.
I had an issue also trying to convert the card. I was finally able to PC to a QS One but they wouldn't allow to the QS with no AF. After my scores were up I ended up applying for the Venture and got it with a 30k SL, my highest at the time. After that, I then called and asked again to PC and then there was "an offer" to upgrade to QS. I still like Cap One since they were my first card when I started to rebuild and will stay loyal.
