Capital one billing cycle timing?

If my cap1 statement is issued on the 8th of this month, does the billing cycle close with all posted transactions up to the 7th @ 11:59pm?   And the statement is issued on the 8th?

or

Does the billing cycle end at midnight of the 8th, thus including transactions that posted on the 8th? And the statement is issued the next day, the 9th.

my statements are always dated 25 days before the due date.  Which is always on the 2nd.       So the April 8 to may 8 statement should be dated tomorrow.

I ask because I just made a purchase yesterday  that is well over 50% of my cl thinking I'll just pay it online before statement day.

I then realized statement day is tomorrow.

So I tried to make a payment to cover it immediately but it hasn't posted yet so my current balance is zero and the stupid cap1 app won't let me make a payment because it says no payments are due.

the purchase was yesterday morning so it's due to post any time now.

Was thinking about apping for a BCE or BCP after my new Amex HYSA is funded but am worried that a nearly maxed out account would scare them off.

anyone know what time the billing cycle ends?

Re: Capital one billing cycle timing?

I don't have the times, but I've made transactions the day before my statement was due to cut, and they posted the day my statement was due. Never quite managed to pay them off before the statement closed. I agree with your assessment of the due date (a due date of the 2nd should close on the 8th this month).

Re: Capital one billing cycle timing?

My C1 payment due dates are the 28th.  The Statement end dates are 5 days later (on the 3rd.)  If I had paid everything that's due on the 28th, any charges that post between the 29th-3rd will of course appear within that same statement.

Re: Capital one billing cycle timing?

I've had it happen this way. Made a large charge, close to posting date. Checked twice on posting date, charge still pending, can't pay account not yet posted. Next morning, bam, posted with new charge, high utilization. Looks like the new charge showed up and account posted, both at 11:59 PM.I

Man I hate that. Seems when it's in the middle of a cycle, it takes 3, 4, even 5 days to post at times, but if it's within 24-48 hours of closing date, they push it through, and of course that's the month when you wanted to get as close to AZEO as possible.

Cap1 is the only CC company that takes the money on the same day payment is posted and quick to put on the CB, if you make charges between your statement end dates lol. I honestly dont know how they do this? B of A is lazy and doesnt care

The statement cut off was 10pm est on the last day of the billing cycle.

was just logged in to the cap1 app to see if my payment I was able to get in yesterday had posted and it was sill processing at 9:59pm.

at 10:02 after cashing in some rewards points for a statement credit (which will apparently take 2-3business days to post)

the current and 'last statement' balance reflected the charge minus the payment bringing it to under 35% uti.

anyone know if cap1 will off cycle report a pif?
