Capital one changed Card without permission

Logged into capital one last night so to see if my auto payments had posted and statements were cut, noticed they had changed my quicksilver one card into a platinum, is this normal? Why would they do this?

Re: Capital one changed Card without permission

The images default to what the card really is during maintenance which I'm assuming is a PC'd platinum. It will fix itself once maintenance is over.

Re: Capital one changed Card without permission

You want to confirm it is actually changed, because C1 website image is not very reliable.

My QS has been showing as QS1 since I removed my custome image, before that, it was shown as plat forever.

They definitely changed it to a platinum, I just got off phone with CSR, said they reviewed account and that I wasn’t using it a bunch after statement closed and downgraded it for annual fee...

Re: Capital one changed Card without permission

Lots of issuers have websites that say weird things during maintenance. Barclays shows weird CLs. Chase will occasionally show no credit available.

Edit: Guess that wasn't the case for you!

Re: Capital one changed Card without permission

sorry, so you had a qs1. I guess they are doing you a favor.... lol. I know discover loves to pc it to it miles w/o request. I guess there is no law against that as long as AF is not increased.

In the meantime, I had a QS which I haven't use for a while and it still remains. perhaps ask them to restore it, if you think that make financial sense.

Nice of them to drop the AF. I agree that they should give notice but nobody is going to actually say "I don't want to save money on a card I never use."

Re: Capital one changed Card without permission

Maybe the principle of getting PC'd without warning and permission is shady, but in this case I guess they're doing you a favor, so I'm glad it worked out. lol
