From what I've read, the Quicksilver could be issued as a Visa or MasterCard. Presumably it could have also been issued at Visa and MC's various levels, ie. standard, Signature, World, or World Elite.
Are people who had Quicksilver Visa standards or Signatures being converted to World Elite MC's? Or are lower MC's only being converted to World Elite? I wonder if Visas are staying Visa?
Could someone please comment on what their card was BEFORE the "upgrade" so the string makes more sense? TIA
@calisig The Quicksilver (mine) was a regular Mastercard before. Seems most all of us with the card and in good standing got the email as well.
The "regular" Mastercard is a Platinum. Check the top of your statement, it should say "Platinum Mastercard ending in...". It should also be on the back of your physical card, mine is under the MC logo and the chip.
Chalk another one up to thinking they were special
My card was originally a Cap1 MC rewards card (is that considered a platinum?) and then was upgraded to a Quicksilver. I still have the MC reward physical card but shows Quicksilver on my statements. My CL has grown quite a bit over the 10 years of having it. I'm at a $14k CL right now.
My wife has the Quicksilver Visa but she did not get the MC Worlds Elite upgrade.
My QS was always a WEMC. It said so in the back of the card under the MC icon.
I noticed before it went thru the shredder.
Cheers.
I got the email yesterday as well. I had hit the CLI button for a $1500 increase just days prior... makes me wonder if I would have had different results after getting the WEMC upgrade. Guess I'll see if it makes a big jump up in 6 months when the card is eligible again for another CLI.
DP: Opened as a rebuilding Platinum in August 2020 with $1k SL, converted to QS 4 months later, stayed at $1k clear up until a few days ago with successful CLI to $2500.
yeah same here, got an email stating my CapOne card was 'upgraded' to MasterCard World Elite
I got the same email. Don't use the card much. Low limit doesn't allow for much.
I got the same upgrade with no CLI... but its all good. T will have to pull out all of my cards and compare the benefits now and determine which ones go in the safe.. lol
My quicksilver mc card previously was a world card, and I guess they upgraded it to a world elite card now. I haven't used any of the benefits, but they are there if needed. 😁
My card was previously a World Mc, and they upgraded it this week to a World Elite. So I don't think everyone was in the lower tier. No telling what triggered this massive upgrade. The essential things like APR or CL it did nothing for 😏

I doubt it. Once a rebuilding card, always a rebuilding card.
