BCE for backdating purposes ? I am curious why you would want BCE since there are better cards out there to cover gas and groceries?
Yeah but those cards have Caps for Gas while the BCE isn't... Amex CS is one of the best and the perks alone might be a better deal then getting 2% CB with the SM ...
What's a perk from Amex that is better than SM for Gas purchases? This type of fan boy/girl loyalty baffles me. It's dollars and cents. BCE < Sallie Mae
For the record he has PRG already for Amex CS "Perk" . I think point they were making was about gas being uncapped with BCE, as opposed to SM haveing 250 monthly cap. For me personally i don't get anywhere near the cap , even with gas being nearly 4.00 an gallon here :-)
It's silly.. apples to oranges. So PRG has absolutely nothing to do with BCE vs. SM. Yes, Amex is AMAZING and I very much value my relationship with them, but to say BCE is a fantastic card really isn't true.
I am not saying BCE is better tthan SM, i am just saying why people may think why. No gas cap and amex cs.
Well, as a founder member of "Friends don't let friends get the BCE" Society, still doesn't make much sense. If gas expenses are large, you want more than 2% (and you can get 2% on everything with Fid Amex for that matter) and as I said in another thread, gas and grocery purchases rarely need Amex Cust Service.
But whatever

I am just trying to think why people would want BCE to app for . I may be an bit hypocritical because i am going to downgrade my BCP to BCE lol. Just going to do that till my PRG offer comes then will use that probably as my gas and groceries card. Just waiting for that 50k signup bonus, hopefully someday it will come.
Oh, I downgraded my BCP to BCE as well, but just because at that stage (and still now I think) couldn't PC to an everyday.

i would side grade it ED if i could but you still can't and the AF is coming up so i will temporarily downgrade to BCE.
I got BCE as a backup for groceries once my wife hits the cap on her BCP. Aparently it worked out best that way. IDK, she did the math.
Amex Platinum ONLY if I get offered 100K sign up bonus.

Probably an AMEX. Not sure which one, though.
