Does anyone know of a card that gets 2% cash back or equivalent on travel-related expenses (hotels, airfare, car rentals) but with no AF? I can't seem to find one other than Cap One Cash Rewards for Newcomers and I'm afraid it's one of their low CL cards.
I had the Chase BP card which got 2% on travel but they are downgrading the rewards program so its essentially worthless now.
All the good ones I could find carry an AF:
Chase Sapphire Preferred
JP Morgan Select
Amex Costco - no AF but have to pay for Costco membership which I don't have
Thanks for your help!
I think I just answered my own question - Discover Miles.

Does anyone have experience with this card? What they are looking for? I've never had/app for Discover before. I was hoping to stay in the garden but I do travel ~once/month and wouldn't mind finding a replacement for my BP card.
Im an AU on it. Its a good card. They gave a 3500 limit.
On 2nd thought this card doesn't seem so great. It's only 2% back on the first $3000 spending each year. Which if you max it out you get $60. You have to have at least $100 to redeem miles so you would have to wait almost 2 years to redeem just once for the bonus. ![]()

Why not get the Escape (or the nearly identical Cap1 Venture)? I know you were looking for a card without an annual fee but the Escape gives you essentially 2% for all purchases, as long as its used for travel, plus you get the 1000 bonus miles each month for the first 25 months. I have the Escape and no issues thus far. With you traveling once a month and depending on your spending habits, it could very well be worth the annual fee. I don't travel nearly as much as you do but based on my situation I see myself easily going beyond the break even point and getting some decent cash back.
If you are looking to put some serious $$$ through the card for traveling, you might consider cards with an AF, you would very likely make back the AF and still pocket $$$.
What about Amex Blue Sky --- it has a $75 AF BUT you get $100 in reimbursments from an airline of your choice.
Very true. I think the Costco card is great but I'm a bit wary about having to go set up a Costco membership and maybe not getting approved for the card afterwards. If you count the membership fee as an annual fee it would also be the lowest among all these options at $55.

Do you know if the $100 is only for air travel? Sorry I should have mentioned that hotels make up 75% of my travel expenses and airfare only 25%.

Yes you did, but for no AF, its the best on the market. I have sapphire prefered and prefer it to miles. As long as a card can pay atleast double its AF in rewards then ill use it.
