I'm looking to buy a TV from a relative that works at HHGregg, and want to do 24 months no interest so that I can earn interest on my money and take my time paying it off. Their card is backed by GEMB, and I already have two other cards, both with no balance, that are GEMB retail services cards. Will that make any difference in the application?
Also, does anybody know the standards of an HHGregg CC applicant? I don't know my exact credit score, as it's been 6 months since I've pulled it and a lot has changed in those 6 months, but I believe it to be somewhere between 700 and 750. I know they pull EQ, and I may pull my score before I app for the card just to be sure I know what I'm dealing with. I'd like a limit around $3000, because the TV I want is going to be about $1400 after "family discount"
But I still need at least a wall mount, possibly a cheap bluray player and most likely an HDMI cable as well, and I want to leave a cushion. I don't need all this stuff right now, but he is only working there through Christmas, so I might as well get it while I have this discount.
Has anyone apped at HHGregg in the past year or so? If so, what CL did you receive and any mitigating factors on your report?
Thanks
Three GEMB cards also. Sams's club, Sam's club Discover, Lowe's. Funny thing about Lowe's. Got it last December, they pulled TU on me and my score was 680...ish. Got $6750 to start, which was more than my other two combined at the time. Just for kicks, I hit the Luv button on Lowe's web site after waiting six months. Got CLI to 10K instantly.....about fell out of my chair. About to hit the Luv button on my Discover when my payment posts. They want six months though, make that six STATEMENTS between CLI's.....no go before that. I hear others tell about 4 mo. CLI's, but not from my experience over the past three years. GEMB has been very good to me so far. I pay multiple times per cycle though, and I always pay the minimum due as soon as the statement posts on-line. Go ahead and give them a go. The other account history should be a positive for you. Good luck.

Only been open 6 months ![]()
I will give it a go when my reports update some balances that I've paid off.
I have 4 cards backed by GEMB, and they have been very good to me.
Sam's Club
Walmart
JC Penney
Lowe's
I guess the figured I would max the card out since I was in a DMP program so they wanted some of the action too.
You're so cynical. ![]()
