Re: Cards you're considering getting later this year.......?

Only waiting for the USAA Limitless to become avaliable in my state.

I have some cards recently SD, such as the Commerce which is the Sallie Mae replacement and the USAA Visa which is a 1.25%. Considering reducing CL on these depending on what Limitless CL is.

Re: Cards you're considering getting later this year.......?

Depending on what happens this year, I might go for a Home Improvement card, Home Depot or Lowes and the American Express Blue card and MAYBE a capital one...dunno yet. Right now my scores are: TU-683, EX-689, EQ-671 and CK scores 673/673. I might just wait until I hit 700s, maybe 720 or 730 so I have a cushion with any point drops I might get due to the INQ.

I'm at my happy place and don't need/want anymore cards!  But I would like a significant CLI from BOA and Amex - that would totally rock my world!!

FICO Score 8 as of 07/23/18
EQ - 770
EX - 757
TU - 741
Goal: 800

Re: Cards you're considering getting later this year.......?

I was actually thinking today about how content I am with my current credit cards.

My Discover currently has 5% off home improvement stores, which is sweet because I just closed on a new house a few weeks ago.

I am remodelling the kitchen, bathroom and building a music studio in my basement so that really helps as I take a trip to Lowes multiple times a week right now.

However, once the 5% rotating category runs out, I will most likely get the Lowes card which offers the same discount.

I am wanting to build a new gaming PC later in the year which I would like to dump on a 0% APR card and pay off slowly but might just put it all on my Amazon and PIF to get the 5% cashback. Not sure yet.

Still getting over the heartbreak of my 5% gas discount with my Sallie Mae being discontinued, RIP Smiley Sad

I'm debating whether or not I should get an AMEX BCE this year, but for sure come December I'll be going for a Citi DC. I'm in my first year with my Discover It, so the cash back match has me using it effectively as a 2% card on non-category spend. Once those 12 months are over the DC will take over as my daily driver.

If I can get a Chase Sapphire prequalified offer on my account, I'll app this year, otherwise I'll be gardening until April 2018.

I'm in paydown and clean up mode so this year will bring:

  • Combination of 2 Capital One QS
  • Closing Merrick Bank
  • Graduation of Secured - Discover, BoA and Citi (Hoping for early parole on Discover and BoA while Citi I believe is a firm 18 months) which I hope turn into something good
  • I'm so far over 5/24 I can't find it with the help of NASA (Chase late 2018)

Current EQ 634 TU08 670 EX 627
Garden: Take #25 (2017 - ouch)
2017 Goals: Citi Premier

Right now, the only benefit I don't have that I want is an Equifax FICO score. Other than that, no need for any other cards and don't spend enough for the high-end ones.

Will pick up a Delta Gold & then Citi AA in next couple of months to top off some mileage balances. Then maybe Chase Hyatt for some free nights. Who knows what next.
