Saw this verbiage on the login page and don't recall seeing it before. Don't know if it's a recent change but apparently the Care M/C is no longer limited to only an automatic upgrade for existing Care Credit holders. Just FYI for anyone not already aware.
"The easiest and fastest way to see if you prequalify for CareCredit credit card is to use this link. You will be considered first for the CareCredit Rewards Mastercard and then for the CareCredit credit card."

Ooooh. With a pre-approval process, so you know before you pull the trigger. And it retains the financing for purchases over $200.
Very nice. Definitely telling my friend who drops a mint on her 9 cats vet bills constantly (enough so that both her and her husband have separate Care credits non-CCs).
Considering it myself now, even though it's Synchrony. Will see what I pre-qualify for later today, because today is CC app day, and I have to go visit a Chase Bank branch. 🤪
Looks like after grabbing a CFF and a SYW today (and two biz card from AmEx and Chase last month), CareCredit would be willing to give me a Mastercard for $10,200.
I'll think about it, but I think I'm more likely to let my credit scores relax a bit, for the next 6-12 months. I kind of want to stay under 5/24 for more than a minute as well.
Congrats on all of those wins and thanks for rounding back to let us know the outcome. Kudos for obvious great financial mgt shown by the cards & scores. Hopefully your friends get success if try Care prequalify for those precious cats! *Then add some DOGS to their fur baby family, lol.
Well that was a fun pre-qual. I asked for $20k
I did not accept since I do not need this card, but cool to know.
Had P2 check as well. They liked him better than me, since they offered him 13k (also the MC) over my 10.2k. That's... novel.
That's not the actual amount you would get. Synchrony does a secondary review, once you submit you application and based on that review they may or may not approve that limit.
My buddy was approved for 12k, then days later received the final approval for much less because they didn't like something on his report.

Fair enough, but then it is also only a pre-qual / pre-approval and ultimately could be denied altogether.

As a Care prequal data point for the forum, did anything in his CR change during those later days?
Just got confirmation from him, he did have 2 recent inquiries one the day of that app and one a few days prior. This may indicate that it was enough to spook synchrony because his final approval amount was $3500
