Carrying a balance with 0% intro rate?

Thoughts? Experiences?

is it like best buy where they hold interest until end?

I have a more then a couple cards with 0% interest for purchases and bt until oct/november/december of 13'

im not really worried about utilty since im gardening until new year, and i dont have any other card wants until then. (just the cringe from score drop)

(im not talking about thousands)

with taxes coming out on my car on top of an unexpected medical bill ill be a little strapped for cash. im currently at 11% reporting and if i carry the medical bill shouldnt be more then 15% and i plan on having 0% by may.

I'm curious about this as well, I do not think it is as it was never mentioned in the application for my Barclays / Chase cards.

In my case, and I asked specifically, they won't start charging interest until the 0% promo is over and only on the balance you have remaining. In other words, it doesn't accrue from the beginning, unlike store CCs. That has been my experience with BoA and Discover, at least.

Discover IT: $20,5k | Chase Freedom: $5k | CSP: $7k | Amex BCE: $25k | BofA Cash Rewards: $12,4k | Citi DC: $8,4k | Cap1 QS: $6k | Commence: $11k | US Bank Cash+: $8k | Macy's Amex $5k | Kohl's: $3k

Always check your T&C, but those deferred interest offers are typically only seen with store cards (e.g. Best Buy).

Yes. I have never seen any other credit card have deferred interest. If they do, it would be on the statement somewhere.

Re: Carrying a balance with 0% intro rate?

I currently have a deferred Interest Promotion Plan on My Walmart/Discover Card.

However, it should be noted that the Term & Condition state on the monthly Statement that if the deferred Promation Plan is not paid

in full by the experation date,  the deferred interest will be charged from the date of purchase.

Most bankcards- Chase, Barclay's, true Discovers from DFS... Do not participate in that "accrued interest" scam like GE store cards, Comenity, etc. I know lol bc I use 0% cred and pif before its due like no ones business!!
Extremely effective way to manage cashflow!! Just pay attn to the dates and which type it is.
Marriott PR$25k | BCE $24.5K |BankAmericard Visa $25k| BOA Better Bal $17.5k |Wmt Discover $12.5k | BR Visa $17.5k | Amex Delta Gold $10k | Discover IT $10k | Paypal Extras MC $15k | Amazon Store $10k|Smile Gen $7.25k | Dillard's $10k | West Elm $4k| Express $3.05K | Mypoints.com Visa $4.5k | Freedom Visa $1k| Amex Surpass $1k

Is this for a purchase made at Walmart, or somewhere else?

Not sure how clearly stating the terms before applying and on the statement is a scam. I don't believe store cards get interchange fees like other cards, so the deferred interest is most likely the biggest way they make money.

It isn't literally a scam lol... I was just being sarcastic.
As I mentioned, I'm 100% sure to pay before they expire lol

No need to be punitive for my choice of words there, navigatethis ;-)
