No problem with waiting I'm just wondering
You can check the preapproval link on the Amex website ,

If you use what you have for a whole year you'll probably get CLIs as well as have your pick of any AMEX you want.
Sounds good that was my original idea

I know you have asked about an Amex on a previous thread. Even though you could, the question is should you? With new TLs I think it would be wise to manage those accounts for awhile. During that 9-12 mos take the opportunity to do some research on the differences in the cards and which would fit your spending.
Amex is a good company and one you should add to your portfolio when you and your credit are ready.
For my age, I'm really responsible and have a lot of money in my savings. I really have no expenses other than gas, car insurance, and some school (almost full scholarship). So about half the money I make is put into savings. I wanted the cards to help build up my score and for the rewards. I read that AMEX can increase your limit pretty fast, which would help my scores too. I have looked at their cards and the BCE looks good, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to get it, hence why I'm asking.
Thanks for the help.
My thought is that you won't qualify for it yet, due to your thin credit history...but I could be wrong.
There is a link on their site to see if there are any pre approved offers for you...it is NOT an app, and there is no INQ if you'd like to try it and see.
Please remember, if it DOES find a card for you, that is NOT a guarantee, you could apply and still be declined.
Best of luck, whatever you decide!

Which Amex are you looking at? Charge or revolver? Not sure what the difference is, sorry, whatever I could get
I agree with the others that with your short history and the fact that you had to recon for the freedom, your odds of getting approved for an amex isn't great. But assuming that you have no baddies, low inq's, YMMV here.
However, I would recommend that you research a little more about Amex and the card you actuall want before apping. Not knowing the difference between a charge card or a revolver is kind of a big deal.
