Change in terms from HSBC - was afraid to look but it was good news!!

Got a change in terms in my HSBC statement today.  Really thought I was going to get ready to BT tha 0% off earlier than plan but the news was unexpectedly good.

1.  They are locking in APRs for one year (pretty cool)
2. No overlimit fees when the overlimit is caused by interest or annual fees applied to the account.
3. No more of htat two-stage OL mess - once when you go overlimit then again when the statement cuts if you arestill OL.

First Cap One, and now HSBC? Does this mean that CCC's are starting to grasp the concepts of competition and customer service? Smiley Surprised

Hey, I have never hesitated to read a change in terms and they wrapped this one face out, outside the statement, still had to work up the nerve to read it...lol!

They also go on to say that as long as you don't go over limit yada, yada yada, otherwise noUD your rate won't be jacked and are now giving 30days instead of 15 to opt out of interest rate increases.

...hmmmmm

Got the same statement in the mail today. yay!

Also got the $59.00 AF fee on the statement. Booooo!

I've had the card for 13 months now. And the cl stands at $750. With the cli received early this month, it's making the decision to close the card that much harder. *sigh*.

As I usually PIF it, I pay no interest. So that is good.

Anyone had any luck with them for routinely removing the AF? The did for me last year when I threatened to close the account, because of low cl.

Actually, I think it's the hearing going on on Capitol Hill - Senate Banking Committee - the fees and rate-jacking are some of the topics.  They know what is coming - legislation to stop it.

Thanks Scarlet. I wish it would be voluntary, but that won't happen.

I wonder if it's on C-SPAN? It would be interesting to watch.
