Changes to CSR, what would you want them to be?

Amex made changes to their gold card & Citi is making changes to the prestige. I was thinking if chase were to make any future changes to the CSR what would you want it to be? For me, I would like them for offer 1.5URs on non category purchases.

I would settle for no annual fee.

If they can throw in one more bonus category that would be super sweet! Like 3% back on "Entertainment".

I think if they were to add an additional 3% category the annual fee would increase.

CSR cannot really be a better card unless they eliminate the generic easy to get travel credit and make you work in order to reap the reward like AMEX does. But in a general i would love a chase card with supermarket multiplier on UR ecosystem. Probably even that may be too good to ever be true.

Re: Changes to CSR, what would you want them to be?

A base 1.5x would likely be doable, considering that so many people already have one of the Unlimited cards and earn 1.5x domestically.

My preference would be occasional transfer partner bonuses. TYs and MRs offer them occasionally, but I don't believe I've ever seen Chase offer one.

Instead of improving on their top benefits card--they should do the same thing AMEX just did and focus on the runner up (CSP) so more people would want to keep it--myself included.

Re: Changes to CSR, what would you want them to be?

It's one thing to wish for something to get better but you have to be realistic.  The CSR is still the #1 sought after premium credit card and Chase has absolutely no problem getting people to apply for and keep the card as is.  They have ZERO incentive to change or improve the card.  There's a better chance of them nerfing the card in some fashion more than improving it.

Irish80,
I was just reading a recent comparison article by the “points guy” where he broke down the possibility of the CSR losing its top ranking as the #1 go to travel card with the increased rewards earnings from the revamped Amex gold & Citi prestige. Because at the end of the day, It’s all about beating out the competition.
