Changing a Quicksilver one to a Quicksilver

Are there any special considerations that must be met, or is it just at the whim of Capital One? Do they consider a PC change to be like a CLI whereas if you just had a CLI you arent eligible for a PC change until 6 months after a recent CLI? I ask because my QS1 is a year and a half old, yet online chat would not allow me to PC to a QS.

Just call and ask if there are any "upgrade offers" on your account. If you can convert it to a Quicksilver, they'll tell you.

Im deaf so calling is not a great option, hence why I used chat. I can call using an internet relay service, but thought I'd ask here if there were special qualifiers before doing so.

I just converted one of my Ventures into a QS less than 10 minutes ago through chat. The account has been opened for 6 months, never gotten a CLI, and barely used it.

Re: Changing a Quicksilver one to a Quicksilver

I converted both mine and my fiance's Platinums into Quicksilvers (not QS One) after the first statement cut. They wouldn't let me do it before that. I think it depends on the person and the charges. I ran a bunch of money through the cards in the first month and paid multiple payments and didn't let the card cut with high utilization. So maybe that had something to do with it? I didn't get the elusive 3 statement CLI though. I'd rather get the rewards than the CLI anyway though.

Re: Changing a Quicksilver one to a Quicksilver

The card is 1 1/2 yrs old. $0 balance when I asked the chat rep. I've run plenty of $ thru it. Have let it report balances, and PIF, never late on payments, made multiple payments per month even. . Last CLI was in November. I'm going to call them via internet relay service and see if I can get a better answer than just, "It isnt elgibile." I'd like to know why.

Sometimes just talking to a different person might help. Good luck.

Must all Quicksilvers be Visa? I was under the impression you could convert a QS1 to a QS but it would remain a MasterCard. I've read so many different comments here and elsewhere, perhaps I'm mistaken.

If it's a Mastercard then when it gets converted it will stay a Mastercard, that is my understanding. I confirmed this a few nights ago when I PCed my QS 1 to a Venture One
