Forget about the backdated stategy. The Amex won't show on your report as opened in 2002. So you are better of waiting unfortunately.

Hi folks.
I'm looking for advice on my chase strategy. My plan was to app for CSP in March/April once my 24m were up since my last CSP bonus but in December/Jan i did a mini spree to pick up Ritz/Prestige /Citi Premier.
I also have a chase card opened in mid. July 2014
I also have an Amex I opened in January 2015 but that account was backdated by Amex to January 2002.
Not including Amex I'm at 4 cards. Has there been solid evidence that backdated Amex cards are ignored?
Has it been too soon since my last chase app? (January) I've put close to $10k spend on it so it wasn't just for the bonus but to retain ritz gold status.
I have six Hp on EX:
3 in Dec 2015
1x Jan 2015 (Amex approval)
1x Oct 2014 (chase ink denied)
1x July 2014 (chase approved )
No HP on TU or EQ. But i keep those frozen anyway since citi and chase just want EX.
I'm tempted to app for the United 70k expiring offer today but scared of any united Deval. I'd hope that they would give us a chance to use miles so I can book summer 2017 travel (I've got enough for this year )
I'm also tempted to app for CSP as I've seen talk of a 50k+50k offer that some folks got matched to via SM. Had it not been for these extra offers now I'd likely wait it out until then Fall to app for CSP.
Thanks for any feedback!
On your credit report, does the Amex show 2002 as the opening date? Or does the physical card just say 2002? What the card and/or your online account says is cosmetic and basically meaningless. It's what the credit report says that matters. If the account is actually backdated, that would put you at 4/24 and clear to go for the CSP. But I'd double check my credit report first, as "real" backdating ended around the time you got the 2015 Amex.
Amex does still "backdate" on the card and your online profile but again these are just cosmetic things. Your credit reports will reflect when the card was actually opened at this point. The question is whether your card was before the policy change.
If the Amex was opened in January 2015 he likely just barely squeezed in. They stopped 'backdating' in March, specifically toward the end of March (I don't recall the exact date).
In any case, there's a chance here...

In all my CRs the Amex has always shown up as opened in 2002.
So it could be that you got yours in before Amex stopped backdating? But bear in mind, for a more senior analyst, they are able to know when an account was open even though it states card was opened in 2002. This is because the history of the card will only show from 2015 not 2002.
Something for you to keep in mind should you have to recon the card in case it goes to pending.
