Chase Amazon CLI? It's been over a year.

I have a Chase Amazon Visa card with a $4500 line. The card is just over a year old and Chase has yet to give a CLI or even mention a CLI. I am gardening right now so I don't want to ask for one that would generate a HP.

My usage has been constant at anywhere from $200 to over $1000 per month, the balance paid off in full every Friday so there have been no finance charges or late payments. Right now my balance is about $50 and this card will be the EO in this month's AZEO. My scores are below (FICO8) and I have over $30,000 in 3 lines with Amex, all Zero balance.

Does anyone have an idea what Chase's policy is on CLI's for the Amazon Visa?

Policy is you have to ask for one, and just like with  all other Chase cards,  there will be HP. You may get nothing, very little, or decent chuck. Chase is not known for great or consistent results with HP CLIs

Auto CLI is always a possibility but that could be today, next year or never.

Re: Chase Amazon CLI? It's been over a year.

I'd advise against using Chase cards as your EO in an AZEO approach. That's because Chase reports a $0 balance any time you pay your CC down to $0. In a month where you use a Chase card as EO, your scores will take a hit as soon as that $0 hits your CR since now you have $0 balance across the board, you only get those points back the next month when your next card balance gets reported by whichever card is the EO. For me personally, that's happened twice in the past and each time it's a 16 point difference in the FICO during that month like clockwork. So if you are doing AZEO because you need to optimize your scores, using a Chase card is not a good idea. I won't get into the merits of doing AZEO at all since that's an often discussed topic on here.

Right.  Or equivalently, don't pay the Chase card to $0 until after the app for which you "need" AZEO.

My Brittish Airways card got a auto-cli after ~7 months of $1000 - $2500 monthly spend & allowing it to report. I payed off balances or made significant payments each time. My Amazon card got nothing for a long time UNTIL I started treating it the same way....allowing decent balances to report & making large of full payments.

Re: Chase Amazon CLI? It's been over a year.

I think that if you ask, Chase will come up with 3k or so. Waiting for them is likely to yield nothing.

As mentioned, Chase cards can be goofy as one's AZEO card. But one benefit is that they'll report whenever you call in and ask. If you find yourself being penalized for all cards at zero, you can easily fix it by asking them to report when you have a small positive balance.

If you're paying by the week and this is your "except one" card, I'd make sure you're leaving a small positive balance, e.g. $5, as long as your statement balance is covered.

Chase rarely hands out auto-CLIs, so don't plan on getting one.  I've had the Chase Amazon card for a few years now and have never received one, nor do I ever expect to.  One of your issues though sounds like the way you're paying off the card every week.  What is the "high balance" on the account?  I'd suggest letting one of your larger spend cycles of > $1000 report, then the next month allow that balance to climb to whatever it naturally gets to and 2 days before your due date pay off the previous statement balance of > $1000, leaving the whatever-hundred dollars left to report.  Sometimes a reported high balance can stimulate an auto-CLI.  It doesn't hurt to try, as it won't cost you a penny of interest to do so.

I requested a CLI for my Chase Amazon around the middle of May and it was a SP, followed by a denial

Re: Chase Amazon CLI? It's been over a year.

Chase gave me 1K SL when my card got approved at the beginning. I was using it at full in the first 3 months and PIF BEFORE the statement date, got auto CLI to 2K after the 3rd statement. Then, the usage of this card had been more than 50%, so I got another auto 2X CLI at 6th statement. Now it sits at 4K for a couple months. I believe the more you use your card, the higher SL you will get from Chase.

Re: Chase Amazon CLI? It's been over a year.

I've just hit the three year mark with mine and no CLI either, so I feel you. We both have pretty close to the same credit line as well. I figure that's just how Chase is. If they made it easier to ask for a CLI, I probably would have asked by now, but what I have is really enough for my use, so not a huge deal I guess.
