Chase Amazon, Freedom advice & comparison

I am very close to applying for a new card and I would like to know about applying for the Chase Amazon and Freedom. I have heard the Amazon is probably the easiest to get. Can you apply for both with 1 HP, what order would you suggest applying for them in? I see the $70 Gift Card bonus and the Amazon 2% categories are very good for me, so I wanted to try for that card in addition to the Freedom. Any of you have experiences, positive or negative, with these cards? Thank you.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I'm also wondering what to do if I was denied the Amazon. Should I try for the Freedom anyway? What about the other way around?

I'd say just apply for what you really want. You never know if you don't just qualify. I applied for the CSP on a "what the hell" kinda thing and got approved.

If i'd overthought it, I'd have gone for the freedom and missed out on the inevitable 25K UR bonus offer.

Are you still expecting that offer? Thought they might go to $200 this winter, but $250?

Isn't it 20K bonus for $500 spend and 5K for an AU?

I would be very surprised if you can get both cards using the same HP(s).    I haven't heard anything about the Chase Amazon CC, but I believe the Freedom is now a double pull.  At least it was for me last spring.

Nope. I see $100/$25.

really don't want to wait much longer. How long before an offer improvement would be acceptable to apply to be retroactively granted extra with them? I realize it's all about the CSR, but if anyone knows, I'd be very intrested.

I would try to me a maximum of a month out. Maximum.

Double pulls are purely individual, Chase and Citi double pull me for everything, for many other people they don't.

OP, simply decide what card is best for you.  For purchases on Amazon up to about $12K per year, the Sallie Mae card gives more back.  If the 2% are useful, fine, but the extra 1% over a 1% card  takes a while to add up!
