Chase Amazon Prime CLI question

Does Chase automatically apply CLI or does the user have to manually request it? If it's automated, when should i expect one? Have had my cc for 2 months so I know it's too soon to expect or request one. Just curious as I have never had a Chase cc before. Thanks.

If I posted this in the wrong place, let me know. Thanks

Chase infrequently gives auto CLIs on their accounts so I wouldn't expect one ever and if you get one be very happy.  Otherwise you have to request them via an HP.

I thought there was some consenus around people getting an auto-CLI if they put a decent amount of spend in the first few months and pay larger than minimum. Beyond that, I don't know but it happened to me from 6K to 7.5K on Freedom in the first 3 months or so...and I've seen others with similar stories.

That certainly can help but because some people post about getting Chase auto CLIs, don't assume that it happens the majority of times or that it should be something expected.  Plenty of people, like myself, use their Chase cards heavily and pay them off and never get auto CLIs.

Re: Chase Amazon Prime CLI question

I was recently given an auto CLI from Chase. Same day other posters were talking about Chase closing their accounts too. I think it's sort of random who they choose to auto, but I use it a fair amount and obviously that helps (Sapphire). I've had the account for 6-7 months. Also, I got an unusually huge limit (comparative to others on here) on the Prime card. I shop almost exclusively on Amazon. I wonder if they look at or have access to that data when when applying?

What was your SL on the Amazon card?

I wouldn't think they would look at that when you apply, but since it is a co-branded card it would be reasonable to believe that they could access that information if they wanted to.

Re: Chase Amazon Prime CLI question

I received two auto-CLI [$500/$2000] in the 1st year. I have used the card sparringly. Go figure. In that time I've received four additional CLI on other cards. Two were auto/2 were requested.

I used my Chase Amazon card HEAVILY for years and never got a CLI. When I would request one, they want to do an HP. Smiley Sad

Re: Chase Amazon Prime CLI question

I had the Amazon Prime Visa for about 4 months and put about $4,000 of spending through it without an auto CLI. I requested a CLI via secured messages and they gave it to me, but they requested a HP. However, I was at a $500 SL and asked for a $2000 CLI and they granted it, so that was nice.

From my experience, you need to request the CLI with a HP to get anywhere.

Re: Chase Amazon Prime CLI question

I requested a CLI (told the rep to leave it blank) from 17k to 25k, 3 weeks after approval, so if you've been PIF and your credits good I don't see why not..
