Chase Application Question

What's up party people? There is a check box next to "Yes, my credit history is clear of bankruptcies or seriously delinquent accounts and I have not been denied credit by Chase within the last 6 months." on the application. It's been 5 months since I was denied but there's a bonus going on that'll end before my 6 month mark is up, but I was wondering if this makes a difference in getting approved because I can move forward to the next part of the app so it isn't required for me to check. Other than the 6 month thing, everything else checks out.

Isn't going to make a difference, they know if you have applied and been denied.

I always check it. It's mostly there as a "Are you sure you wanna apply?"

Re: Chase Application Question

Don't think it makes much a difference with regards to getting approved for the card. I wouldn't have gotten Southwest a month after getting denied for Amazon Visa last summer for example.

Tradelines: Macy’s - $18k, Penfed Power Cash Rewards - $10k, Ethan Allen (TD Bank) - $5.7k, Kay Jewelers - $5.5k, Appliances Connection - $5.3k, Jared - $5.25k, Best Buy (Citi) - $5k, Dell Preferred Account - $3.5k, Samsung - $3.2k, Firestone CFNA - $3.2k, Capital One Platinum - $3k, Mercury MC - $2.25k, Williams Sonoma - $2.1k, Wayfair (Fortiva) - $2k, Amazon Store Card - $1.8k, Apple Card - $1.7k, NFCU cashRewards - $1.5k, CareCredit - $1.5k, B&H Photo - $1.5k, Adorama - $1.25k, Ebay MC - $1k, Sam’s Club MC - $1k, American Eagle - $1k, Ollo MC - $600, Mission Lane Visa - $500, NY & Company - $500, Walgreens - $500, Home Depot - $500, Target RED Card - $500, CapOne Secured MC 0 AF - $500, Penfed Overdraft LOC - $500

Current FICOS: Mid 640s-50s on all reports, Ch 7 BK D/C Aug 2019

I don't believe you have to even check it to proceed

I've never seen that on Chase. When I applied for the Marriott Rewards card, I don't remember it being on there.

Re: Chase Application Question

I think it's there just to show you're being honest? They will see it anyway so I'm not sure. I had late payments about two and a half years old and checked the box, then was instantly approved for $18k CSP. So obviously YMMV.

Re: Chase Application Question

They show that box on some apps but not others, even for the same product.

Depends how you get to the page.

The mobile application doesn't ask that question.

@starky85: checking the box means you're clear, not that you have baddies... Smiley Happy
