I have a Chase Freedom: 2K Limit
also a Chase Slate: 2K Limit
last but not least, I got approved for Chase Saphire Preffered: 5K Limit
I wanted to cancel the Slate card... but a lot of people are telling me i could transfer my credit limit to a different chase credit card.....
first question is How do i transfer my CL to a different card.
second: which card do you all think i should transfer my limit to
third: how much of a limit should i keep on my slate card so i dont have to close it for my AAoA
fourth: does this hurt me in any way?
I believe the lowest they can do is $500 on the card if you don't want to close it. You can just send a message saying you'd like to move 1500 from the Slate to the Freedom and within one or two days it will be done. You should transfer the limit to the card you will use most. I will not hurt you at all.

I would probably use my CSP the most.. havent recieved it yet... but i would like to get points for travel.
Where do i sent the message to?
You can just call the costumer service number to transfer limits, it does not go thru underwriting the regular reps should be able to do it, atleast they did for me
yes, you just call the number on back of card and they can do it instantly. I would move the slate and close and keep freedom and CSP.
I just called and did this earlier. However, I moved a little of my CL from Freedom to Slate to take advantage of the 0% ARP 0% Fee for a BT..It was simple phone call.
Yes, Chase allows this. Your account you are trying to transfer from needs to have a zero balance and no pending transactions. If you want to keep the card open, the least they can do is 500 CL. I would consider closing the card if you don't plan on using it anymore. Your AAoA will not be affected for 10 years as the account will still report for that duration. By that time, your other accounts will have aged up ![]()
