Chase CLI?

I have three Chase cards, Amazon (1k), Freedom (2k) and IHG (3k). I would like a CLI on my Amazon and/or my Freedom... I shop a lot on Amazon and so the $1k limit doesn't work and the Freedom doesn't usually work depending on the cash back category. I don't see the request CLI on my online account. Does that mean that I don't qualify for a CLI? Or are all CLI's have to be generated by them?

Re: Chase CLI?

There is no CLI link or button available on the Chase website.  You would need to submit the request through a Secure Message or via telephone.  Please keep in mind that each CLI request can and will result in a HP for each CC that you request regardless of which method you use.

Chase does offer auto-CLIs, however, this all depends on account eligibility.

Re: Chase CLI?

There is no option for cli on the website. Chase cli come in ~4 different ways:

1. Auto cli (sp)
2. By Invitation through the mail (sp)
3. Request via phone or SM (HP typically)
4. Reallocate CL i.e. You could move some of your CL from IHG to another account. Some suggest apping for a new card, moving most or the whole CL and closing the donor card.

Nope and nope.  They just don't have a CLI request link.  You can always request a CLI which will lead to a hard pull.  Many find that they don't have any luck with requesting a CLI but YMMV depending on your credit profile and income.

Re: Chase CLI?

Don't waste a HP on a CLI with Chase. Apply for one, or two, new cards using one HP and then move your credit lines as you see fit.

Re: Chase CLI?

I tried and failed asking for CLI with Chase.  It resulted in Duplicate pulls the same day on EX (2 pulls for nothing).

I have had 3 auto CLI's from Chase so I just wait it out and when my profile improves, I app for different cards with higher CL's.

Re: Chase CLI?

I've had the slate ($500) cl and the freedom ($3k) cl both for around 2 years. Never have gotten an auto cli. Chase seems to be the only cards I have that ABSOLUTELY DO NOT grow with me. Scores are in the 716-730 range across the board

Re: Chase CLI?

Getting a cli with chase is too much trouble and they usually wont approve one even with HP, better off applying for a new card or hoping to get a big starting limit.

Only place worse i've found is Wells Fargo, took them 3 and a half years to give me a $700 cli on a $300 unsecured platinum card and that was AFTER A HP.

Re: Chase CLI?

I've called on several different occasions to see if I had an offer for a SP cli....no offers, I refuse to take a hit on credit report for a cli with chase

I agree with this generally. However in the OPs case I'd ask when you got your IHG (sorry if you said and I missed it) and what changes have happened on your credit file since then? The Chase co-branded cards have been known to offer much larger limits than Chase's own cards and if you've only gotten $3k on the IHG you might not get much more than that on a new co-branded card. In fact many are VS and have a $5k min so I'm not sure you could lower them to move CL without closing, so if you decide to go that route choose carefully.
