I noticed the CLI in my account one day. My available credit was considerably more than I was expecting to see. A few days later, I remember getting an email detailing the increase.
@Taurus22 wrote:@difringe Just curious if the card in question was the Amazon Prime card? We have been noticing a lot of Chase Auto-CLI's for those accounts suddenly. Lots of recent posts regarding this.
Yes, it was! After I posted my question, I checked the forum and saw ppl talking about the Amazon Prime auto-CLIs lol
Both my wife and me have gotten numerous auto increases from Chase. Sometimes they send a message, sometimes you just notice it or now, I get a credit notification that my limit increased.
The best way to get an auto increase is to run consistently high spend (>50%) through the card.
Chase isn't what they used to be. Scrooge Mcduck these days. I remember when you used to get offers for a Soft pull CLI. The last time I used it was in 2018. I actually have a hard time finding any evidence of such a thing, but I do still have the email when they told me I could do it with SP and I did it at that time.
Seems now it's just Auto-CLI based or you call in for a root canal.
@SouthJamaica wrote:The only CLI I ever got from Chase was slipped in there, with no announcement or communication of any kind. The way I learned of it was noticing that my available credit had grown.
And from what I remember of reading other people's experiences recounted in this forum, that seems to be Chase's M.O.
Same here, I've had a couple over the years and never gotten any kind of communication about it from them.
My CFF went up from 4500 to 10800 no email just happened to check my profile. I use it heavy tho
Back in December, when Chase surprised me with a CLI on my Amazon card, an email followed a few days later.
I have seen where some Chase customer's have received notifications after the fact and some that never received any type of notification. Don't know why that is. My Chase Freedom Unlimited is kind of a lost cause for me. About 2 weeks ago my Care Credit card automatically gave me a 3k increase and within the last 3 days I received increases from Citi on my Simplicity card and my Rewards card; both of these were 5k each. Within the last week I hit the increase credit limit on both my Discover It and Chrome and got nice increases on both of those. I recently put something on my Freedom Unlimited card so will pay in off either this month or next month and then probably close. I have too many cards to carry around as it is, so really don't need the Chase card.
Congratulaltions on your Chase increase, however it came to be.
