Two weeks ago, I got noticed on Chase Online that my CSP account number had been changed. I called Chase, and they explained that since my card had been used at The Home Depot, I was being issued a new account number. I haven't received my new card yet, so I called and was told it would be another week or so. Anybody else have similar experience?
By comparison, I called AmEx immediately after speaking with Chase. I had used my BCP at THD and inquired whether I would be assigned a new account number. AmEx told me that they were monitoring all accounts for suspicious activity, but a new account would be issued upon request. I asked for a new account number, and the new card arrived the next day. Pretty impressive, I thought.
They called me and they closed my old account right the way. My new card was in the mail 2 days later.
My Marriott got hit. Chase was on top of it. They noticed it was a bizarre on-line purchase. Blocked the sale. Closed my card and had a new one in my hand within three days.
i have alerts on everything and Im glad I do.
When my CSP got hit Chase did not catch it. When I noticed it I called in and the account was immediately closed and a new card issued. The charges were refunded the next day and the new card arrived 2 days later. Not too shabby.
