So today I get a secure message from Chase titled "Changes to your Card Benefits". Upon reading I come up to a part that says "Here's what's changing on August 26, 2018
-Price protection and Return Protection will no longer be available".
First it was the news that Chase would allegedly be eliminating the ability to pool points in a household and the ability to move points to a more valuable card (Ref: https://frequentmiler.boardingarea.com/2018/04/25/leak-chase-may-end-ultimate-rewards-transfers/ , https://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Cards/Leak-Chase-may-end-Ultimate-Rewards-pooling/m-p/523275...).
Now this... Is the CSP loosing its shine a little bit?? It's still an awesome travel card but if they keep doing away with benefits without adding any value to compensate, will this card be as strong in the future?
Old news.
Yeah, i got that same message the other day. While I'm not too concrned with price protection, considering for years I've dealt with an item alwas being cheaper a week later. Or whatever, It just happens. What I do take issue with is return protection. It's alwasy been nice to know that if a product fails, and am unable to get satisfactory response from the manufactuer. That it was protected by the CC i purchased it with. It's a nice feature even if I've never used wither one. Safety nets are just nice to have.
IMO, if more an more CC are going to get rid of a lot of these perks, they wont be worth their respective AF.
Is there perhaps a new restructure coming, and new card teir associated with a different AF somewhere between $95 and the $400 ones?
And will encompass some of these lot perks, or is it simply a cut back?
