Chase Card Combine

I just called Chase to combine another card I have and I used the backdoor number posted. The rep told me as of yesterday they no longer combine chase accounts. Anyone else heard this, before I call back acting a fool? Smiley Happy

Re: Chase Card Combine

Thanks anyway! I found out it's true on my own. Called another back door number and the young lady was so sweet and actually tried to combine the cards but the system would not allow her to proceed. Then she stated they did receive something stating that was no longer an option but she was trying it anyway to see if the system would allow it.

Re: Chase Card Combine

If you are trying to get a higher limit card, you can reallocate credit lines. For example: you currently have 2 cards at 10k each - move 8k from one card to the other, you now have 1-18k and 1-2k.

What's the use of this? Unless you need one card to purchase something with the amount exceed your card limit, I'm not sure what's the benefit of this?!

IMO the following are the most obvious reasons -

  1. Balance transfers.
  2. Utilization percentage
  3. Large TL's beget large TL's.

That's strange, maybe one of your accounts is some type of co-branded card that cannot be combined? I know they still reallocate balances because I just moved some of my credit line from one account to another. I have the Disney and PerfectCard.

I used the customer service number on the back of my card. For PerfectCard its 800-945-2000.

Another option from the backdoor thread: Chase: 877-781-3109 (combining & product change)
