Chase - Co-branded Cards

Does anyone know if Chase's requirements are relaxed for co-branded cards they issue?

I've been thinking of some time about applying for the Southwest CC (I use them about 4-5x a year - and the SUB right now is really good), but the card is backed by Chase.

I know that I don't get a positive response when I use the Chase pre-qual site (I'm under 5/24, but still have 5 years to go before my BK7 falls off), but I wasn't sure if perhaps (like others) they have lower standards for co-branded cards, rather than the Chase cards.   I don't want to waste a HP if they're the same standards as their own cards.

Any feedback is much appreciated

I'm not sure myself.  Do you have more data points to share?

I would say their underwriting for the Amazon Prime card and Southwest card is slightly less rigorous than for their core cards. But you still might be wasting a HP ( or even 2 HP's, since they sometimes double pull).

Have you tried the Pre-qualification tool for their Amazon card? It's found through your Amazon account.

Re: Chase - Co-branded Cards

I personally would not try it yet. There have been a few that get a card with a bk with chase but it seems like when they do its after there bk is 7+ years old. The other question would be did you burn them?

I tried at 7 years and and got denied

So I waited till 10 years and no problem. I think my scores were like 720 @ 7 years.

Re: Chase - Co-branded Cards

I didn't burn them in the BK7 and got denied about 6 months ago when I app'd for the Amazon card.

I think I'll just wait a few more years...oh well.
