Congrats!!! I got a letter in November stating my card was upgraded. The accompanying FAQ page stated that I would recieve a new card within the next year(gasp) Still have not seen the new card. No big deal. I still have the benefits based on the letter. My Freedom turns a year old this month. Congrats again.
When a Visa card goes from Platinum to Signature, how are the additional merchant fees split between Visa Inc. and the issuer?
@ddemari wrote:Chase is awesome! I came home just now to this thick envelope from Westerville, Oh and I’m not expecting anything from chase in a plain white envelope. So I open it up and Chase did fulfill my request to upgrade my platinum Freedom Visa to a Signature Visa. When I asked for the upgrade, the rep. said my account wasn’t eligible to ever be a signature. Over 5k limit opened for nearly 2 years. I did reply to the email from the secure message saying I was disappointed that the conversion couldn’t go through, but I will ask again in the future. Then about 7 days later, boom here it is!
That is why I never bother with Chase reps on the phone if I don't have to lol. Other then the time I had to call the fraud dept because of my 2 Balance transfers to my CS with a 0% APR Balance promo I haven't called them in around a year. I find talking through SM is 100% better and easier though not exactly faster. I got my Freedom upgraded to a siggy through SM and they said a simple yes to mine through the SM method. It started out with a $3,500 limit then an auto CLI to $4,500 and then I moved $4,500 to it when i closed my Marriott card and then asked for a Visa siggy upgrade.
Congrats though
@ddemari wrote:I agree, the Freedom as a siggy definitely has a nicer look than the standard visa
They both are equally ugly...lol

I do think that when chase added the emv to freedom they messed up the card. The original had a much better design element.
Fantastic, Congrats to you!
