This is the only APR they offer on the Ritz-Carlton. It's the same as with Chase Sapphire Preferred, and Southwest Premier, Marriott etc.
You get a fixed APR on all these cards. It doesn't matter if you've had the card for a while or not.
However, even with the cards like Freedom where they have a flexible APR, Chase is notorious in not reducing the APR. I opened a thread on this recently. I'll try that in a few months.
Good to know, I had CSP in mind, but I will pass for now.
You should not apply for these rewards cards with APR in mind. None of these cards offer low APR; or 0% promos. If you want low APRs, Freedom and Slate are your best bet with Chase.
I respectfully beg to differ on that one.
I have a Freedom with an ugly 22.99 and also a PreQualification for Slate right now with the same high APR.
On my CSP the APR is a much better 15.99.

Wow, Freedom is an ugly APR.

ugly ?? oh no .... isn't 22,99% a nice figure? Welcome to the club! What I would suggest is to work on APR reductions with all other lenders but Chase (a seedless mission) and then you can smile at this figure..lol.. works perfect for me and I have given up hope for ever changing any APR with Chase.
+1
Exactly! It is by design that Chase's model issues mostly fixed rate APR's in this manner since they do exceptionally well with moving limits around for their customers.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I'm in the same boat; my CSP and SW Premier have the fixed, lower APR while my Freedom is scary.
However, it's only with Freedom (or Slate) that you have the possibility of having a lower APR (like 12.99%, 0% promo for 12-15 months etc.), if you apply at a later point in life when you've got big scores in your favor. With the CSP, Marriott, Ritz and the like, you're always going to get 15.99% (unless there's some MyFico special that I don't know of). The only thing that's going to change between a 700 EX and a 800 EX is the CL that Chase is going to offer you on day 1.
So my bet is if a couple of years down the line I were to apply for the Slate and the Marriott simultaneously, I'll get 3% lower APR - given all else goes well.

Liliane, I haven't given up on the mission to Signature. You're my pioneer w.r.t. that.
I have a Chase Amazon Rewards with 19.24% and figured I'd give it a shot and was denied- hey, it was 3 minutes and the worst they could say was no, right- worth a shot. Oh well, I'll try on the Citi as soon as it's paid down a bit more, I've read they're more amenable to requests
