@CreditCuriosity-- Same 😂. @Remedios will give us a crash course 😜
Yes, for a small fee, but you gotta pay by using PayPal Key.
But, wait, we need to learn first so we can pay you! Oh wait, something tells me we're going back to the Jasmine days of paying via the Cashapp 😜
Well, I can change my PayPal Key back to Freedom and get the $1,500 covered. Then hopefully that prompts AMEX to bring back the Platinum PayPal monthly credits for a while. That was a nice little bonus.

I rarely use Paypal Key, except for this month and looks like next quarter too. Had to pay for new HVAC systems (the house was built in 1978 and still had an original nearly 50yo AC running... probably a 4 SEER... LOL). The HVAC company recently started using a new payment vendor that allowed multiple payments, but didn't take Paypal.
So I set up Paypal Key to pull whatever was left over from 3 different Disco IT cards (in 3 separate transactions). 5% cashback on about $3000 baby!!!
Previously, I had Walmart Pay linked to the Paypal Key card, so that was sweet when paying inside a Walmart. This is not needed next month now, though.

This ^^^.
Basically, during Discover and Freedom's Paypal quarters it's great for any purchase where you can pay over the phone or online since it lets you trigger the 5% on Discover or Freedom. This is assuming there's not already a 5% card for that purchase anyway, of course.
Paying for propane in the winter is one of the uses for me (our provider uses a weird MCC that doesn't trigger the utilities category on other cards). Another is Walmart and Sam's Club when those aren't categories on their own. Others have gotten much more 'creative' with it, but for me it's mostly places I can pay in-app or online. (For a while FluzPay was promising, but that's dead now - they now see PPK as a "prepaid" card and won't let it be added.)
Friendly reminder for everyone who has both the Chase Freedom Flex and Discover It Cash - the Discover card also has Walmart.com purchases as a 5% category in Q4 2021. The bonus ONLY applies for online purchases at Walmart.com, rather than all Walmart purchases, in-store or online, as is the case on the Chase Freedom Flex. However, the Discover card also has Target.com and even more notably Amazon as 5% categories in Q4 2021.

For some though, these are less valuable for those not in the first year of Discover, any red card (debit, store or credit) already gives 5% at Target, and the Sync/Chase prime cards are 5% at Amazon. And these are uncapped rather than $1,500
@Taurus22 wrote:Oh ok, so they are basically offering a single category of PayPal.....but specifically at Walmart. So it doesn't actually include Walmart spend outside of PayPal payments. It's still good, no question....just seems more restrictive than Discover, as they offered all PayPal purchases.....+ Restaurants.
No, they mean PayPal AND Walmart will not earn stacked 10%; Regular PayPal anywhere will earn 5%; Regular Walmart usage with direct chase card will earn 5%; AND this one, using PayPal by any means at Walmart will earn only 5%, not 5 from both sides.
@Duke_Nukem wrote:"See FAQs & Merchant List" link and then the "View current quarter's Merchant List" link (surprisingly, it actually shows next quarter's list instead of this quarter's).
PAYPAL PURCHASES INCLUDE
Transactions made using your Chase Freedom card with PayPal for purchases
Please note, Friends and Family or Person-to-Person (P2P) transactions made with your Chase Freedom card on PayPal may be prohibited or not eligible for 5%
PAYPAL EXCLUSIONS
Xoom transfer payments
Looking at the links provided.. ""See FAQs & Merchant List"" and "View current quarter's Merchant List," what does P2P mean for paypal?
Is paying for an item via "goods and services," instead of f&f, still p2p?
Is there a way to buy things from individuals via paypal and still get this?
