The best current offer I have seen for Chase Freedom is 13.99, and I was just approved for one at that rate. My mother has one at 9.99% that she got about three years ago. Has anyone been able to get an APR decrease on the Freedom below the 13.99 rate??
Not app'd for or requested but mine was auto-reduced to 11.99% years ago, might have been reduced around same time as my last auto-CLI they gave me, at least 3-4 years ago now.
Thats interesting when my 0% offer ends i will need to look into seeing if i can get an apr reduction 18.99 doesn't sound too appetizing for me
I'd love a rate like 13.99% on my Chase Freedom. They've had my rate at just over 27% for over seven years now and they refuse to lower it. I do use the card for their 0% balance transfer promotions though.

27% that sounds ridiculous... were u late at some point and they jacked up your APR to the penalty rate or has that been your regular APR?
APR rates with Chase are usually a life sentence. Chase rarely automatically lowers APRs on accounts and they will not accept user initiated requests to lower an APR.

Yea it is ridiculous. 27% is the regular with a penalty rate of 29% that I have never gotten. Never been late on any account. I carried a large balance for a while. They have been the only creditor to take adverse action on me by lowering my limit back around the same time they increased my APR. It is one of my oldest accounts too at about 13 years.
