Yep, for most of us, Chase is one of the stingiest banks around. Three-X CLI would be generous for any cc issuer except maybe Amex and GE, but some people consider themselves lucky to get $300 from Chase. However, you could be one of the magical people that Chase loves for its mysterious, magical reasons and who get treated great with auto-CLIs and lots of love.
But yeah, ask for a CLI and they'll hard pull you. And it's a crapshoot whether you'll get anything worth having, or anything at all.

Well, you'll get some benefit of gardening just from account aging. As far as growing TLs, you've definitely picked two of the difficult ones. Maybe give it six months, then add a new card from a company known to be generous.
Anecdotal evidence suggests that you have to use the card heavily, and it's on them when they want to give you a CLI. I've gotten 2 on my Amazon, and 1 on my Freedom. Regardless of rewards, I find that it has to be your everyday card for a while.
A good friend of mine swiped it for everything. Let it cut at whatever balance, high presumably, PIF each time. I think he started at 700 bucks and now he's at 4000. Never requested a CLI

Do they do auto CLI's?
If you are among the very very very lucky ones
So they rarely give auto CLI's???
Looks like it to me. I tried to ask for a SP CLI from 4K to 5k via SM and clearly mentioned not to do anything if it would require a HP....but Chase reps do not read more than the title of the SM and HPd EX and EQ (double pull ). Wow....Chase would have given me 500$ not even 1K with a double pull. It got me furious that they simply pulled without permission. At least after 6 months they managed to have the inq removed. I decided to not request a CLI with Chase anymore and simply app for a new card. This got me 16K and easy transfer 1K to my Freedom. I am convinced a new CLI request on my Freedom would have been a new disaster !
Crappers! That stinks!
The good part is that they have soooo many great cards that I will CLI my Freedom with future new apps...that looks way more promising to me ![]()

You mean if you app for another Chase card (CSP for instance) then CLI your current Freedon at the same time (2 for 1 - with one HP)?
I've seen x10 CLI from calling in after 8 months of use, and a 1500 increase immediately after overpaying the card. Rep said that some people overpay their card to get increases in their credit line... anyone experience this?

By "overpay" you mean multiple PIF each month???

I doubt this would work....happy puller Chase would probably find a way for quad pulls
...no I mean by transfer "uneven" amounts over....got 16K and I like 10K, 15K, etc...so I simply level out to the Freedom. Next Chase app is in November/December...yet to decide which card I will go for. CSP or IHG...it all depends what Chase is up to with the AF on the CSP...95$ then CSP but at 149$ a no go for me at the moment. I am apping for cards that I am going to keep...churning comes later ..

I mean pay more than the balance so that there is a negative balance

It allows you to do that?
