I didn't want to mention it in my previous post, but that is a very high APR. My Chase account is somewhat older (opened in 3/1986). However, my Chase Freedom Visa's APR is PRIME+0.49 or currently, 7.74%. Although you did mention that you PIF, you might want to try negotiating a better rate at some point.
Creditaddict wrote:wow... 17.49%. Our APR went down when we switched to Freedom card. Once you get the new card, call the backdoor number and tell them you have been long time customer you want the best rate on the freedom card. Go to Chase.com and act like you are going to apply for the Freedom card and you can see the apr range the card has

They said no problem, but the account number would change. I'm thinking that won't be a big deal. It is her only CC account, but at just three years old it's not the end of the world. My bigger concern is the CL. She had a CL of $13,000 on the old card that was great for keeping our utility down; we spend $800 to $1000 a month and PIF (whcih is why I thought the cash rewards would be worth the switch). Now I'm concerned because I forgot to ask about the CL on the Freedom card. Do you think they will keep the limit the same? Anyone else make a switch like this? I know the interest rate will be going up from 10.24 to 17.49, but since we PIF each month I wasn't too concerned about it.Thanks, krystofur
That's what I have. What's the difference?

krystofur,Did you happen to ask the Chase representative if the new card is a Chase Freedom Signature card?
